The MindFrame Technique
will allow you to significantly improve the quality of
your training sessions and games by effective use of
imagery. By performing the skill being practiced in your
mind before you execute it, you are able to pattern the
brain in such a way that you can perform perfectly on
the day.
For example, you can imagine appearing before a large
hostile crowd - and then experience the stress and
anxiety symptoms associated with this situation. Then,
via the MindFrame Technique, you imagine yourself calm
and relaxed and able to express your natural skills.
You can use your imagination to practice pushing through
pain barriers. This allows natural endorphins to be
released, allowing you to get your “second wind” and
perform beyond your normal capabilities. By imagining
yourself performing perfectly, you modify and strengthen
the pathways important to the co-ordination of your
muscles. You would then automatically and instantly
respond accordingly on the sports field.
